FARRA MILLISCREENS
Wastewater treatment is an essential process to minimise our impact on the environment. Farra Self-Cleaning Rotary Milliscreens have been designed to be simple to use for the the removal of solids from wastewater. With over thirty years' experience, Farra's Milliscreens are in use throughout New Zealand with installations in Municipal, Food Processing, Tanneries and Wool pressing and Timber Processing industries.
APPLICATIONS
Our screens are being utilised in::
- Industrial and Municipal wastewater processing
- Vegetable processing
- Grape processing in the wine industry
- Dairy farm treatment systems
- Paper and pulp plants
- Wool scouring plants
- Wood fines plants
- Tanneries
OPERATION
Wastewater enters the hydro chamber where the specially designed baffle system reduces the velocity of the incoming wastewater to an even flow over the three-sided weir onto the screen. The milliscreen rotates at a constant speed with the cleaned water passing through the wedge wire screen or perforated sheet and the solid waste materials are expelled out the end of the barrel for disposal or further processing.
FEATURES
Our milliscreens are self-cleaning with internal and external sparge pipes, featuring low and high-pressure water jets that remove what little physical blockage may occur. This feature means the milliscreen has more capacity, is more efficient, and has a reduction in maintenance downtime.
Other features of our milliscreens include:
- All stainless steel construction - Screens are made from 304 or 316 stainless steel depending on their application.
- A specially designed baffle system to reduce the inflow of wastewater.
- Size ranges for 20 to 54,000 litres per minute.
- The ability to be positioned in parallel to further increase capacity.
- Wedge wire slots ranging from 0.25mm to 6mm.
- Simple operation and easily serviceable with minimal moving parts.
- Being easily retrofittable into existing systems.
