Welding quality system ASNZS ISO 3834-2 Certified
Welding is one of Farra’s core capabilities and we are certified according. Our quality system meets the production control requirements expected for fusion welded products. ISO 3834 is available in three different levels 2 to 4. Farra holds the highest certification - Level-2.
Our welders are certified to ISO AS/NZS 9606-1 and qualified to FM1 - FM2 (Carbon Steel), FM5 (Stainless) and ISO 14732 (Spot welding). We are SCNZ and HERA Steel Fabrication Certified AS/NZS 5131 to deliver best practices for the fabrication and erection of fabricated structural steel in NZ to code.
Farra are the first engineering company in New Zealand that holds this EN 15085 certification and 1 of only 15 certified companies in Australasia. EN 15085 is the most rigorous Quality Certification for the Welding of Railway vehicles and components for Rail. Farra are qualified for the welding of Stainless and Carbon Steels under this certificate.
Qualified weld procedures
As a core capability our weld procedures are qualified to AS/NZS 1554 Part 1 (Structural Welding) and Part 6 (Stainless Structural Welding), ASME IX (for pressure applications), AS/NZS 1665 (welding Aluminium), AWS C1.1 (Spot Welding), ISO 15614 (for Structural and Pressure Applications). We have qualified for welders to ISO 9606 - Part 2 for Aluminium.
